Sunquest Information Systems has announced that Sunquest Laboratory version 7.0.1003 is compliant with the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) for Health Information Technology's 2014 Edition criteria and was certified as an EHR Module on April 24, 2013, by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT), in accordance with the applicable Hospital criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. The ONC 2014 Edition criteria support both Stage 1 and 2 Meaningful Use measures required to qualify eligible providers and hospitals for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. For eligible hospitals, adding the Meaningful Use 2014 Incorporate and Reportable module to Sunquest Laboratory demonstrates Meaningful Use of the Reportable Results criteria by implementing Public Health reporting from the laboratory.
The ONC HIT Certification Program certifies that Complete EHRs meet all of the 2014 Edition criteria and EHR Modules meet one or more—but not all—of the criteria approved by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) for either eligible provider or hospital technology. ONC HIT certification conferred by CCHIT does not represent an endorsement of the certified EHR technology by HHS.
The Sunquest Laboratory version 7.0.1003 certification number is CC-2014-715250-1. This version meets the following certification criteria: end-user device encryption; inpatient setting only—transmission of reportable laboratory tests; automated numerator recording; quality management system; incorporation of laboratory tests and values/results.
