MEDICA and COMPAMED 2024: Adapted hall layout

Aug. 22, 2024
For even better integration of trade fair and ancillary program.

The final preparations for the MEDICA 2024 and COMPAMED 2024 trade fairs in Düsseldorf, Germany have begun.

More than 6,000 exhibitors from about 70 countries will fill all the halls of the fairgrounds. MEDICA and COMPAMED will take place from November 11 – 14, 2024.

In the MEDICA halls with the “Med Tech & Devices” and “Digital Health” worlds of experience, trade visitors will benefit from a thematically adapted hall allocation and a new location for the accompanying German Hospital Day. The leading event for the top management of German hospitals previously took place in the Congress Center Düsseldorf and is now moving to the center of the trade fair, in Hall 12. Companies exhibiting in the “Med Tech & Devices” world of experience with innovations for hospital equipment and operating room will be grouped around the event area.

Hall 13 will feature the MEDICA ECON FORUM, organized by the Techniker Krankenkasse health insurance fund, which will address current themes in healthcare policy (particularly regarding the digitalization of healthcare), the MEDICA INNOVATION FORUM (with its popular start-up pitches) and the special exhibitions “Hospital of the Future” (innovations on the topics of “Digital hospital infrastructure” and “Data usage exemplified by intensive care medicine”), the Wearable Technologies show and the MEDICA START-UP PARK as a hub for networking with the digitally based start-up scene.

At MEDICA 2024, there will be five worlds of experience with a comprehensive range of innovations for outpatient and clinical use. In the past two years, the company and product database on the MEDICA website listed more than 12,000 innovations by exhibiting companies at the beginning of the trade fair. MEDICA’s worlds of experience are: Lab & Diagnostics (laboratory technology and diagnostics), Med Tech & Devices (medical technology and electromedicine), Disposables (consumer goods and consumables), Physio Tech (physiotherapy and orthopedic technology) and Digital Health (IT systems and IT solutions).

Held concurrently with MEDICA again will be COMPAMED. About 750 exhibiting companies will present special manufacturing and supplier expertise at COMPAMED 2024, also in five worlds of experience: Manufacturing & Devices (e.g., components, parts, manufacturing processes), Services & Advice (e.g., research, development, services), Materials (e.g., plastics, glass, ceramics, metals, composite materials, adhesives, packaging), Micro Tech (such as micro components, microfluidics) as well as IT in Tech (software development and maintenance for medical technology).

The “hot topics” at this year's MEDICA will include current application examples of AI and robotics and support systems in everyday medical practice. Another focus will be on the increasing networking in healthcare provision. This involves innovations for the “point of care”, i.e. (usually outpatient) diagnostics and treatment in close proximity to the patient. This also includes telemedicine applications in order to ensure optimal cross-sector collaboration between all those involved in the treatment process.

Almost all companies active in the healthcare industry are affected by the urgent shortage of skilled workers and are looking for solutions. These will be discussed in a target group-oriented manner in individual forums and conferences.
