LabVantage Solutions, a provider of laboratory informatics solutions and services, introduced its medical laboratory information system (LIS) in North America.
Deployed in more than 50 hospitals in the Nordic countries in Europe, LabVantage’s LIS integrates the major laboratory disciplines—including pathology, clinical chemistry, genomics, microbiology and general laboratory—into a single platform.
The solution interfaces with instruments and other enterprise systems, such as electronic health records. The platform also includes built-in and configurable workflows, a common data model, a browser-based user interface, business intelligence tools and a lab-operated control center.
“Our system maximizes ease of use, efficiency, cost effectiveness, and speed. It supports compliance and reduces errors,” said John Heiser, CEO of LabVantage Solutions.
The LIS grew out of LabVantage’s laboratory information management system (LIMS), which is used in research settings at major academic medical centers in the United States, the company said.
