New study results provide an option for patients to self-test for prostate cancer at home.
Vanderbilt and the University of Michigan conducted tested the MyProstateScore 2.0 (MPS2) urine test. MPS2 is “a non-invasive test used to help identify high-grade prostate cancers that need early detection and treatment by analyzing 18 genes associated with prostate cancer.”
Researchers compared urine “collected after a digital rectal exam” and urine without. The test showed similar results in both specimen samples, validating the test for at-home use.
