HHS announces modifications

March 27, 2025
Part of the Make America Healthy Again campaign.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced big changes in the department, part of President Trump's Executive Order, “Implementing the President’s ‘Department of Government Efficiency’ Workforce Optimization Initiative.”

The modifications include a cut of 20,000 full-time employees. The department said the transformation won’t affect vital services. Additionally, HHS’s divisions will merge into 15. One of these sectors will be the Administration for a Healthy America (AHA). There will now be 5 regional offices instead of 10.

According to the announcement, new HHS priorities will be applied, like “the new HHS priority of ending America’s epidemic of chronic illness by focusing on safe, wholesome food, clean water, and the elimination of environmental toxins.”

Details of the plan can be found on the HHS website.
