Thermo Fisher Scientific introduces new TSG series freezers and sample preparation refrigerators
Thermo Fisher Scientific introduced the Thermo Scientific TSG Series Freezers and Sample Preparation Refrigerator, built specifically for laboratory and research environments. The purpose-built TSG Series refrigerators and freezers offer energy-efficient, quiet and intuitive operation with effective temperature control to help ensure sample integrity.
TSG Series refrigerators and freezers are designed to help support external sustainability objectives, including the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Significant New Alternatives Policy (SNAP) and the European Union’s F-gas Regulations. They have also been ENERGY STAR certified and can help reduce lab energy consumption by up to 10% compared to previous models. The TSG Series is manufactured in a zero-waste-to-landfill factory in Asheville, North Carolina and comes with an extended 4-year warranty, which can help eliminate some of the environmental impact from end-of-life disposal.
The refrigerators, freezers and sample preparation refrigerators in this series include heat-free defrost, efficient door-open recovery and temperature uniformity to help protect sample integrity. There are remote-contact alarms for low- or high-temperature readings and power failure, door-ajar alarms and data logging of high and low temperatures and alarm events. Each unit also includes keyed door locks that are compatible with e-lock adapters.
The TSG Series pharmacy refrigerators adhere to NSF 456 vaccine storage standards, helping provide the security and temperature stability needed for vaccines and other pharmaceuticals.
The bright, easy-to-read touchscreen on TSG Series refrigerators and freezers is intuitive, with easy access to the temperature setpoint, alarm logs and settings. The TSG Series refrigerators and freezers offer quiet operation through internal design elements that reduce the acoustic footprint of each unit to below 53 decibels.
The sample preparation refrigerators feature an interior outlet that offers an easy setup for benchtop equipment or an apparatus within the chamber, helping researchers shake, spin, and agitate samples in a temperature-controlled environment without the need for specialty benchtop equipment.
The TSG Series refrigerators and freezers include four options for a variety of cold storage applications: glass-door refrigerators, solid-door refrigerators, pharmacy refrigerators and auto-defrost freezers. The TSG Series sample prep refrigerators include a single- and double-door model.
