Psyche Systems announces availability of toxicology LIS

March 7, 2013

Massachusetts-based Psyche Systems has released a laboratory information system (LIS) specifically built in collaboration with its customers on the WindoPath platform, Psyche’s Anatomic Pathology solution. This toxicology LIS has the features and workflow that are specific for drug testing and pain management. It can be used as a stand-alone toxicology information system or as part of a complete laboratory information system. Psyche representatives say WPTox simplifies and streamlines the sample collection process through an easy-to-use, web-based sample collection portal. It also provides multiple report formats specifically designed to report drug testing.

“I am extremely excited about this toxicology LIS. It’s an invaluable asset for labs that perform, or want to be able to offer, drug screening or pain management testing services. Being able to implement an affordable and virtually plug-and-play LIS with these standard features will provide a significant competitive advantage for our customers,” says Brian Keefe, Director of Laboratory Marketing, Psyche Systems.

Major features include the ability to capture, properly classify, and interpret the presence and/or absence of prescribed and non-prescribed drugs, as well as drugs of abuse. This intelligent LIS executes computer-coded logic to determine whether the metabolites detected, or not detected, are consistent with the known information captured at the time of order. The software also has the ability to determine the expected pattern of results based on the presence or absence of multiple analytes. Learn more at Psyche Systems’ website.
