Wayne State University receives grant for diabetes research

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has awarded Wayne State University a merit grant for diabetes research.

According to a release, the study will last four years and cost $710,000. The study, titled “Aberrant Nuclear Signaling in the Islet Beta Cell Under Metabolic Stress,” aims to find “new insights into diabetes and its onset.”

The researchers hope the findings will aid diabetes diagnostics and treatment.
