Specimen Transfer

Dynamic duo

CMV Kits contain cytomegalovirus or CMV transport media, and flocked swabs for the collection and transport of chlamydia, viruses, or mycoplasma. Specimens may be transported at room temperature for up to 48 hours. Diagnostic sensitivity of test procedures can vary, depending on the number of cells and free organisms released by the transport swab. Flocked swabs are compatible with rapid, antigen kits, DFA, culture, and PCR. Kits are available in three kit formats — nasopharyngeral, male STD, and female STD — with flocked swabs specifically designed for optimal performance for each body site.
