Blue-light fluorescence microscope

Euroimmun USThe EUROStar II is specifically tailored to the requirements of indirect immunofluorescence with bluelight — blue light-emitting diodes, which do not emit any ultraviolet radiation and are explosion proof. Almost all emitted light is suitable for the excitation of fluorescein. With no need to warm up or cool down, the bulb features more than 500 times the life of a mercury bulb and does not require a darkened room. The microscope requires almost no maintenance. An optional digital camera accessory is available. The Plus model’s halogen-transmitted light is suited for brightfield, darkfield, phase contrast, or polarization microscopy in addition to the LED for fluorescence.

Artifact-free imaging

Carl ZeissThe VivaTome module for fluorescence microscope systems use white-light illumination, to achieve frame rates of up to 30 frames per second. Any motion artifacts that may arise due to sample movement are eliminated. The system can simultaneously deliver both widefield images and optical sections. The data can be compared, analyzed, and processed without interrupting workflow. The module is attached to the Axio Observer, Imager, and Examiner microscope systems using a C-mount.

Illuminator for TIRF imaging

Olympus AmericaThe cell^TIRF illuminator offers four motorized channels for simultaneous image capture; intuitive, user-friendly software control of total internal reflection fluorescence (TIRF) parameters; and instant setting and confirmation of the precise TIRF angle. The system also allows easy transition back and forth to widefield fluorescence and a space-saving ergonomic design. The system has four individually controlled motorized laser inputs for TIRF imaging; each laser wavelength is optimally focused, and each angle is individually set, allowing different wavelengths to have the same penetration depth. Users can preset calculated penetration depths for all four lasers with a single mouse click; the system automatically adjusts each laser’s angle individually to simultaneously capture TIRF from all four channels.

High-power microdissection with high rep rates

The The LMD700 is the only laser microdissection system with a power adjustable, high-precision laser. The laser’s high-pulse repetition rates are ideal for the fast excision of single cells, cell clusters, or thin and soft samples. Additionally, high laser power allows the dissection of thick or hard specimens. The laser movement is controlled by high precision optics, whereas the microscope stage and the sample are both fixed. This allows precise cutting accuracy at high magnifications, as well as at low magnifications. Both are prerequisites for obtaining homogeneous material for downstream analysis and reliable results.

New application

FDA clearance has been given for the Body-Fluid Application to run on the company’s DM96 analyzer. Labs using the DM96 for blood differentials are now able to analyze other body fluids (i.e., CSF and pleural fluid) on this platform. This makes the analysis process even quicker, allowing for more standardized results, digital archiving of test results with cell images, and sharing of digital images with experts outside the lab for quick diagnosis. This new application improves efficiency, standardization, and connectivity of a difficult microscope procedure. This clearance also includes analyzers that have already been installed.
