Point-of-care glucose-testing system

The Nova StatStrip point-of-care (POC) glucose monitor incorporates a strip technology that uses four measuring wells to correct hematocrit interference and interferences from acetaminophen, uric acid, ascorbic acid, maltose, galactose, xylose, and lactose. The system helps eliminate oxygen interference to provide glucose results, regardless of the sample’s oxygen status. A six-second analysis time, 1.2-µL sample size, and color touch-screen operation aid in bedside glucose testing for POC staff. Auto-code blood-glucose monitoring system

The Assure Platinum blood-glucose monitoring system is designed for long-term care and multiresident use settings. Auto-coding eliminates the need for any other form of manual coding, which can reduce user error and ensure consistent, accurate results. The system utilizes a GO (glucose oxidase) strip chemistry and, therefore, is not subject to interferences than can affect GDH-PQQ systems, which can cause false results in patients using peritoneal dialysis solutions that contain icodextrin or maltose. A “hypo” warning alerts users of low blood-glucose readings. Test strips require a 0.5-µL sample size. A release button for strip disposal eliminates the need to touch a used strip, reducing the risk of exposure to infectious materials. The memory can hold 500 tests with time and date stamps.

Bedside glucose measurement

The Sure Step Flexx professional blood-glucose management system is for in vitro diagnostic use for the quantitative measurement of glucose in venous, capillary, arterial, and neonatal whole-blood samples. The meter measures a patient’s blood-glucose level from a whole-blood sample taken at the bedside. Blood is applied directly to the test strip before the test strip is inserted into the meter. A confirmation dot on the test strip helps check that an adequate volume of sample was applied. A large touch-sensitive display allows for manual entry of operator, patient, and reagent information. An optional barcode scanner is available so information can be quickly scanned into the meter. The meter stores patient and quality-control data in memory. This information can be recalled and manually recorded, or the data can be uploaded through a bidirectional data transfer to a workstation.

Analyze whole blood for glucose and lactate

The 2300 STAT Plus analyzer makes precise glucose measurements of whole blood, plasma, or serum and precise lactate measurements of whole blood, plasma, or cerebrospinal fluid. The system measures glucose and lactate simultaneously in whole blood or plasma. Alternatively, the analyzer can be configured to measure glucose only or lactate only.
