Centrifuges
Compact, low cost centrifuge
The
StatSpin CytoFuge 12 is a cytocentrifuge that concentrates up to 12 samples and gently deposits cells in a monolayer onto microscope slides for a variety of cell preparations. For safety, the unit operates only when the outer lid is locked. Inside is a removable sealed rotor that can be loaded into a hood to eliminate exposure to biohazards; the sealed rotor also can be autoclaved. The program key pad is easy to use and up to 24 programs can be stored. The unit operates from 200 rpm to 2,000 rpm. Samples from 50 µL up to 800 µL are processed with high cell recovery.

Benchtop microcentrifuges
The
Mikro 120, Mikro 200, and Mikro 220 range in capacity from 12 to
48 microtubes. Multiple rotor options are available for all three, and the Mikro
120 offers a compact footprint as well. These microcentrifuges provide powerful
performance, bio-containment options, and reliable, quiet operation. The Mikro
200 and Mikro 220 are available in refrigerated versions. The Mikro 220R will
also accommodate full-size blood tubes for added flexibility. These centrifuges
offer quiet performance with microprocessor controlled, digital operation.

CLIA-waived system quickly measures hematocrit
HemataSTAT
is a microhematocrit system that provides a quantitative hematocrit and has a
60-second spin time, quiet operation, a built-in digital tube reader with LCD
display of prompts and results, and a six-place rotor. The hematocrit method
measures the amount of red blood cells in relation to the amount of plasma. The
test requires a small blood sample from a fingerstick. This small, lightweight
system has clear, disposable tube holders for safe and easy clean up in case of
sealant blowout; a built-in tachometer; and an optional rechargeable battery for
portability. This product is CLIA waived and has displays in English, French,
German, Italian or Spanish.

Three-minute TAT for LEAN lab operation
The
StatSpin Express is a high-speed horizontal centrifuge that allows for fast
turnaround time and greater productivity for a LEAN laboratory. Place it next to
any STAT analyzer and serum or plasma gel tubes are ready in just minutes. With
only three settings, it is simple to use. No fumbling with settings; no need to
readjust the speed. For safety, the lid remains locked until the rotor comes to
a complete stop. An audible alarm sounds when the cycle is completed. Samples
can be processed as they arrive in the lab; no need for batching, and results
are available in minutes.

Automated centrifugation for 300 tubes/hour
The
Centrifuge Module EC1 forms a complete front-end automation process and has
a throughput of 300 sample tubes per hour. The tube type is identified via cap
recognition by a camera. After detection, tube type is selected and tubes are
loaded in batches into the centrifuge buckets. The EC1 loads the buckets
automatically into the centrifuge and unloads after centrifugation.
Centrifugation starts either with a full batch or via a programmable timer.
Samples that do not need to be centrifuged are passed on to the output area or
to the next connected system.

Easy sample loading for large holding capacity
The
Horizon 755VES features the largest holding capacity in the Performance
Series line of centrifuges by this company. Its horizontal rotor carriers can
accommodate up to 24 test tubes. The 755VES offers control over almost every
aspect of the unit’s operation from variable acceleration and deceleration to
easy time and speed input. The horizontal rotor allows for quick and easy sample
loading and complete horizontal separation. Settings may be saved in one of 10
memory locations, and can be quickly and easily recalled at the touch of a
button, making operation simple and efficient.
