Biothreat-agent detection
The
GeneXpert System makes biothreat-agent detection possible in
minutes — all from unprepared samples. Its rapid turnaround time gives
first responders results in less than 45 minutes vs. two days in
culture-based testing. This easy-to-use, automated, and highly accurate
real-time PCR (polymerase chain reaction) instrument could detect as few

Learn and be prepared
Introduction to Bioterrorism addresses what clinical laboratorians
can do to be prepared for the threat of bioterrorism. The course covers major
biological and chemical agents, including their warning signs and symptoms, and
the laboratory's role in the nationwide system for detecting these agents. The
emphasis of the course is responsible action that can save lives in the event of

Three-layer construction
These
Super Absorbent Underpads, with three-layer construction, act as a
cushion to protect lab ware from breakage — and lab personnel from exposure
to biohazardous fluids. Each underpad contains a top sheet that is made of a
soft white spun-bound polypropylene. The absorbent cellulose fluff filler,
sandwiched between two layers of tissue, is embossed overall for superior
wicking of fluid. The backing sheet comes in different colors and is made of
embossed polypropylene. Each pad is sealed on four sides to prevent liquid
seepage. Deluxe pads are more absorbent and thicker with more absorbent
celluose fluff than standard pads. Super deluxe pads have an added polymer
that absorbs more moisture. Super deluxe pad 56617-032 comes in a breathable
format.
